Presented by: Karl Hautekiet, Head of Global Business Development

Showcase Description: A non-destructive method based on pulse-resonance analysis is proposed to predict the effects of process variations during sintering, heat treatment, and cold working on final mechanical properties. Elastic defects, such as porosity and anisotropy, primarily affect resonance frequencies, while dissipative defects correlate with increased damping and reduced elongation at break, reflecting greater internal energy dissipation. This relationship is extended to additively manufactured materials and metal injection moulding (MIM). In 3D-printed alloys, microstructural features, porosity, and anisotropy reduce elongation and increase damping. In MIM aluminium, porosity and particle boundaries show similar effects, linking processing, microstructure, damping, and ductility.

Showcase Description: The bulk bag industry has seen surprisingly little evolution over the past 50 years. A bulk bag designed decades ago shares nearly the same materials, construction, and features as one produced today. While other forms of industrial packaging have advanced through engineering and innovation, FIBCs have remained largely unchanged.
Fusion® Technology represents a fundamental leap forward rather than another incremental improvement. By rethinking how bulk bags are manufactured, Fusion® delivers enhanced containment performance, improved moisture protection, greater consistency, and eliminates the need for liners in many applications. It is a new approach to what a bulk bag should be.
Attendees will learn:
• Why FIBC technology has remained largely unchanged for decades
• How Fusion® Technology redefines bulk bag construction and performance
• The operational and sustainability benefits of liner-free FIBC solutions
• Real-world applications where Fusion® Technology delivers measurable value

Showcase Description: Advanced-carbon development often begins with available grades, leaving users to test, reformulate, and source material forms from unrelated production routes. This session presents an alternative: begin with the application’s required performance, translate it into measurable material attributes, and work backward toward the material regime and production conditions capable of delivering them. Using Rimere’s production of distinct carbon morphologies from one feedstock and reactor platform as a case study, the session explores specification and qualification challenges. It is intended for producers, users, application developers, researchers, and standards professionals seeking a framework for developing, characterizing, comparing, and procuring emerging carbon materials.

Showcase Description: Manual SEM/EDS analysis is limited by both the number of fields an analyst can review and the phases they already expect to see. Onyx, by D10 Analytics, was built to eliminate the needle-in-the-haystack search for inclusions, contamination, and rare phases, empowering analysts to review flagged anomalies instead and to make decisions with statistical confidence drawn from hundreds of fields of view. Requiring no training data and no reference libraries, Onyx runs fully offline on any alloy. We will show Onyx detecting metal powder contaminants, turning massive EDS datasets into statistics a lab can defend.

Showcase Description: Carbon isn’t one material. Structure and morphology decide how it performs, yet conventional manufacturing starts with a process and accepts what that process produces. Rimere works the other way. By varying the plasma conditions in which carbon forms, we have demonstrated materially different morphologies from a common methane feedstock and modular reactor platform — Branched Nano-Spheres and graphene-family Crumpled Nano-Sheets — while the space between them, and structures beyond them, remain development-stage and continue to be mapped. Ron DeKok will cover what this changes for materials buyers, where the platform stands today, and what Rimere is looking for from partners.

The process is designed for continuous, scalable production and produces advanced carbon structures including carbon nano-onions (CNOs), multi-layer fullerenes, and graphene-like materials. This presentation will introduce EAM’s production technology and discuss how the unique morphology and properties of its CNOs can provide performance advantages in commercial materials. Particular attention will be given to applications in lubricants and greases, polymers and resins, composites, concrete and cementitious materials, and energy-storage systems.

Showcase Description: Carbon is not one material: structure and morphology drive the characteristics that determine performance. Yet conventional carbon manufacturing is largely fixed-output—the process defines the material, leaving application developers to select among available grades and adapt accordingly. This session explores an alternative approach: starting with application requirements and working backward toward the material structure and formation conditions needed to address them. Rimere will present its staged plasma platform and technical evidence showing two materially different carbon morphologies produced from the same methane feedstock and platform under different process conditions: branched nano-spheres and crumpled nano-sheets, graphene-family. The session will distinguish demonstrated results from work still under investigation and discuss the path toward application-directed material development. The target audience is materials developers, formulators, application engineers, manufacturers, and R&D teams. Attendees will leave with a framework for thinking beyond fixed-output carbon and evaluating where tunable material formation could matter to their applications.
