Questions answered by our Head of Technical, Dr. Aphrodite Tomou (PhD, MSc)
What advanced materials do you specialize in?
We offer a complete A-to-Z of advanced materials, serving a wide range of industries and applications. Our portfolio includes high-purity metals, technical ceramics, custom-made alloys, high-entropy alloys, and cutting-edge graphene composites such as Hastalex and BioHastalex. We also provide biodegradable polymers and Certified Reference Materials, supporting innovation across research, development, and manufacturing.
Please explain the benefits of your speciality.
Goodfellow products offer high purity, precision, and reliability. With a wide range of well-characterized materials and custom solutions, we support innovation at every stage, from research and development to production, providing consistent quality and trusted global sourcing.
Selecting materials is not just a technical decision, but also a strategic one that must factor in cost, scalability, and lead time. Prototype success doesn’t guarantee production viability without early alignment of these factors. Therefore, we prioritize proactive, cross-functional collaboration to ensure scalable and sustainable outcomes by bridging technical intent and commercial reality.
Are there any exciting innovations in your industry or company that you can share with us?
We’re seeing rapid advances in microfabrication, microfluidics, and laser micromachining, all areas where our materials play a key role. At Goodfellow, we’re also driving innovation in eco-friendly and recyclable materials, helping customers meet sustainability goals without compromising performance.
If attendees should know one thing about your company, what would it be?
Goodfellow has recently expanded its capabilities by integrating Potomac Photonics, the Bureau of Analysed Samples (BAS), and Suisse Technology Partners (STP). This strategic growth adds microfabrication and laser micromachining, certified reference materials, advanced materials testing, and chemical analytics to our portfolio. Together, these additions enhance our product and service range, positioning Goodfellow as a one-stop partner for precision materials and innovation.
